Higher tier tanks generally get slower and more heavily armored, while lower tier tanks are lighter. A tank line is a research line within a tech tree that usually consists of the same or similar kind of tank, with the next tank in a line being an improvement over the previous. By playing tanks, experience and credits are earned, which are used to research and purchase the next tier tank on the tech tree, until Tier X, which is the maximum tier.
